Every year, on their wedding anniversary, Derek and Andrea call me and we go out and shoot. This year I wanted to do a fashion-ish kinda GC feeling shoot playing with light and seeing what I could come up with. I wanted it to still be fun, and not over the top… and I guess this is what I came up with. Anyway. Thank you for calling me D&A, I had A LOT of fun with you, and I hope we can hang out again soon! Good times.

{I had one of the most amazing vacations ever, spent about a week and a half in Montreal with my Sister and her awesome husband and my super cool niece.. My friend Tony came along too and we had a great time enjoying the night life of the city. All in all, excellent trip.. met some amazing people.. and now every morning i wake up, my heart longs for Montreal (oh oh..)

Kira and Kevin are getting married this weekend and I had their e.session on my desktop, so I though.. Hey! I should blog it.. I know, I know.. it’s a divergence from my plan, but I had to blog something!! I’m also particularly proud of this session, I feel like it’s pretty diverse and we had LOADS of fun shooting it. They actually opted to do a premium session, and i’m so glad they did as it allowed me a lot more time to explore. I also chose to so most of the session in the dark, so that was challenging and fun (read: focus sucks in the day, focus is like.. so hard..at night).

{A client of mine recently commented that she wished she knew more about me, because she thought I was probably an interesting person. I very much doubt that I’m particularly interesting.. certainly no more so than anyone else, but none the less I took her comment as an opportunity to share a little bit about “me”.

This has been a super rough month for me. It seems like just one thing after another, nothing has gone right.. it’s actually been really crap. Chris and Ellen caught me on probably the worst day this month.. And let me tell you, they were just what I needed. Two of the most genuine, interesting, kind, gentle and totally in love people I’ve ever met.  I REALLY enjoyed their session, and when I got home, I was super super happy with the results. Thankfully, life is very much back on track, and I’m very very excited to shoot Chris and Ellen’s wedding!

I’ve decided I’m going to structure the way I post my blogs as follows. If your e.session is shot near your wedding date, then your e.session will be posted with your wedding, if your e.session is shot far away, it will be posted on it’s own.

My name is Tristan… but you can call me T-Dawg!!

 Many of you I have already e-mailed… so now you can put a face to the name, and know a little bit about me! 

I’m fresh out the gate from a pretty rad’ photography school and eager to learn the ropes of the industry…I am super stoked to help out and be apart of the John Edgar Team. 

I think it’s really important to enjoy the simple things in life; so when I am not taking photos for my clients or working for John … you can find me doing one of three things… chillen at the Tuesday Matinee with Raspberry Yogen Fruz. Sneaking in an afternoon nap with my black lab Jet, or reading a good book in my hammock by the river …Oh life’s little pleasures!

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you better and I hope to help make your experience with John Edgar Photography a smooth and enjoyable one!
